Hey, lemme tell ya somethin’ about that rock-head statue from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Now, I ain’t no fancy scholar, but I know a thing or two about statues, and this one’s pretty darn interestin’. You can buy it from Redd, that sneaky ol’ fox who comes ‘round in his Treasure Trawler. It’s based on somethin’ called an Olmec colossal head, made by them Olmec folks way back in 900 BC. Yeah, real old stuff, huh? But listen here, not all the ones Redd sells are real. You gotta keep yer eyes sharp or you might end up with a fake one sittin’ in yer house, foolin’ everyone who comes by.
Now, the way to tell if ya got a real rock-head statue or a phony is a bit tricky, but ol’ Redd can be caught. Sometimes, them statues look just fine, but they ain’t. You gotta zoom in real close, take a good look at it. If you’re not careful, Redd’ll sell you a fake, and lemme tell ya, ain’t nothin’ more frustratin’ than payin’ all them Bells for somethin’ that ain’t worth a hill of beans. You can also get this statue over at Harv’s Island, but even then, you gotta be watchin’ out.
See, that rock-head statue is based on a real piece of history, somethin’ dug up from way back in Mexico by them Olmec folks. This head’s got a real stern look to it, kinda makes you think it’s watchin’ ya, judgin’ what you’re doin’. If you donate it to the museum, old Blathers will go on ‘bout how important it is, talkin’ ‘bout the Olmecs and whatnot. It’s a big ol’ stone head, heavy as can be, and trust me, you don’t wanna drop it on yer foot!
- Buy from Redd’s Treasure Trawler
- Check if it’s fake by zooming in
- Donate to the museum if it’s real
- Harv’s Island also sells it, but be cautious
Now, don’t think you can just go ploppin’ it anywhere in your house and forget about it. This statue’s got some serious history behind it, so you best treat it right. But what really gets folks is figurin’ out if they’ve been scammed by Redd or not. That’s the big part! When you buy from him, always make sure you check the eyebrows. If them eyebrows is slantin’ up towards the middle, you got yourself a fake. If they slant down, well, you’re in luck ‘cause that means it’s the real deal, and Blathers’ll be mighty proud to add it to his collection.
Now, if you’re like me, ya probably don’t have time to sit there figurin’ out all the little details every time. But it’s worth it if you don’t wanna end up with a forgery. If you bring a fake statue to the museum, they won’t take it, no matter how much you sweet talk ‘em. So it’s important to know what you’re lookin’ at, or else you’ll end up with a rock-head statue that’s nothin’ more than a fancy paperweight.
People been talkin’ ‘bout this statue a lot, sayin’ how cool it is to have somethin’ so ancient in their homes. But trust me, the best part of havin’ one of these statues is when ya finally figure out it’s real. It’s like findin’ treasure, it is! And if you don’t got one yet, well, you better start savin’ them Bells. Redd charges about 4,980 Bells for it. That ain’t cheap, but if it’s real, it’s worth every one of ‘em.
So, next time ya see Redd comin’ to yer island, make sure ya pay him a visit. But remember, not everything he’s sellin’ is the real McCoy. Check them eyebrows, take a close look at the statue, and if you’re lucky, you’ll walk away with a genuine piece of art history. And if you ain’t sure, well, zoom in and take yer time. No one wants to get swindled, not even in Animal Crossing!
